TOLEDO EDISON COMPANY DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWF.R STATION UNIT ONE SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FOR LER NP-33-77-61 DATE OF EVE'iT: August 23, 1977 FACILITY: Davis-Besse Unit 1 IDENTIFICATION OF OCCURRE' ICE: Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-2 was inoperable due to a planned adjustment.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence: The plant was in Mode 2 with Power (MWT) = 0 and Load (MWE) = 0.

Description of Occurrence: On August 23, 1977, at 1045 hours0.0121 days <br />0.29 hours <br />0.00173 weeks <br />3.976225e-4 months <br />, Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-2 was rendered inoperable for performance of planned maintenance. The governor hung up at certain speeds, necessitating its removal from service for =aintenance.

The station entered the Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.7.1.2.

% Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrance: Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-2 was deliber-ately rendered inoperable to perf orm maintenance on the governor valve.

Analysis of Occurrence: There was no danger to the health and safety of the public or to station personnel. The other Auxiliary Feed Pump, 1-1, was operable during the period that 1-2 was not.

Corrective Action: Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-2 was declared operable at 1945 hours0.0225 days <br />0.54 hours <br />0.00322 weeks <br />7.400725e-4 months <br /> on August 23, 1977, after passing Surveillance Test, ST 5071.01 Auxiliary Feedwater i

System Monthly Test. The station was then removed from the Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.7.1.2.
