DAVIS-BESSE UNIT ONE NUCLEAR POWER STATI'ON SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FOR LER NP-33-77-41 DATE OF EVENT: August 10, 1977 FACILITY : Davis-Besse Unit 1 IDENTIFICATION OF OCCURRENCE: Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-2 inoperable to implement wiring change of FCR 77-199.
Conditions Prior to Occurrence: The plant was in Mode 3 (Hot Standby), with Power (MWT) = 0 and Load (MWE) = 0.
Description of Occurrence: At 0545 hours0.00631 days <br />0.151 hours <br />9.011243e-4 weeks <br />2.073725e-4 months <br /> on August 10, 1977, Auxiliary Feed Pump (AFP) 1-2 was removed f rom service to implement a wiring change per Maintenance Work Order MWO 77-1658. This wiring change was to reduce the relay contact amper-age to prevent relay contact failure by placing an additional relay in the cir-cuits which operate the speed changer motor, s
This placed the station into the Action Statement of Technical Specification

3.7.1.2 which requires both Auxiliary Feed Pumps to be operable in Mode 3, Hot Standby.
Designation of Anoarent Cause of Occurrence: This was a deliberate entry into the Action Statement to perform the wiring change as was requested per Facility Change Request FCR 77-199.
Analysis of Occurrence: There was no threat to the health and safety of the public or to station personnel. Auxiliary Feed Pump 1-1 was available to supply auxiliary feedwater if needed.
Corrective Action: The wiring change was completed, the AFP tested and declared operable by 2355 hours0.0273 days <br />0.654 hours <br />0.00389 weeks <br />8.960775e-4 months <br /> on August 10, 1977. This removed the station from the Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.7.1.2.
AFP l-1 wiring change was completed on August 9,1977 at 1250 hours0.0145 days <br />0.347 hours <br />0.00207 weeks <br />4.75625e-4 months <br />. The wiring change was implemented while AFP l-1 was inoperable from 1030 hours0.0119 days <br />0.286 hours <br />0.0017 weeks <br />3.91915e-4 months <br /> on August 7 to 1250 hours0.0145 days <br />0.347 hours <br />0.00207 weeks <br />4.75625e-4 months <br /> on August 9.
