J. G. Esppler, Chief. Projects Branch, R p The trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for a site visit to McGuire Nuclear. Station on 1amiary 17 and 18,' 1972 ended with a meeting requested by Charles E. Raplan, Region IV. DA. Atlanta, Georgia.
The meeting was attended by J. R. McWharter (Task Force Imader) and Joseph Eafford (Specialist in Theres1, Effects) for Oak Ridge Natienal laboratory. The meeting, $bheduled for 9 :00 A.M.,
January 19, 1972, began on time. Mr. William Lee, Senior, Vice President of the Duke Power Company was present as was '
W. Charles Dewey, Environmental Engineer from Duke. The conduct of the meeting was amiable. Attention was focused primarily om

Oconee statement issued ca_ December 15, 1971.:,Three 2-df====ional models were considered that were coepared La their applicability to EPA and Corps of Engineers permits for discharge with Laka Isowee.
Information available, but not obtained previously feca EPA and Duke, was sade available to both AEC and OREL duriag' the meeting.
Meteorological data requested to complete the model requested by ORNL and EPA at the tima of the EPA-AEC meeting in Bethesda, on m=A=y, January 10, 1972 was requested again during the Medassday meeting in Charlotte. The Duke model for thermal effects not previously available was presented to Mr. Joe Hafford at this meeting.
Duke Power Company advised that it would provide the meterological data requested by Mafford, that is, in two weeks from the January 19, 1972 meeting in Charlotte. After receipt of the taformation, Mafford will review it in ORML.
The Subject of "mizing sones" was discussed.
