Background===
- NRC Transformation Team established in early 2018
- 27 recommendations provided to NRR by NEI in their September 19, 2018, letter
- 1H Eliminate Materials Inspections of ISFSI
- The staff rejected the original recommendation to eliminate ISFSI inspections but committed to assessing the ISFSI program
ISFSI Enhancement Team
- Provide recommendations for a more effective and efficient ISFSI inspection program

Teams Assessment
- Recommendations developed for areas of potential enhancements
- Developed a new technical basis document for the ISFSI inspection program
- Based on recommendations, significantly revised the inspection manual chapter (IMC) 2690 and inspection procedures to clarify:
- requirements,
- level of effort (hours), and
- inspector guidance
