Dear Sir:

South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Response Update For IE Bulletin No. 79-28 Bulletin No. 79-28, received December 11, 1979, requested each construction pennit holder to submit information regarding the use of NP;C0 Model EA 180 stem-mounted limit switches at their respective giants.

Responses have been received from all South Texas Project vendors potentially affected by this Bulletin.

No corrective action was required for the majority of the vendors.

Of the two remaining, one has implemented corrective action as recomended by NAMCO, while the other is still conducting an investigation of the impact of the Bulletin.

Houston Lighting & Power will be informed of the results of the investigation upon its completion.

Once the results of the investigation are known, the NRC Region IV office will be notified accord-ingly.
