Emergency Diesel Generators South Carolina Electric & Gas Co.-Summer Station January 14,1980 Part 21 Report-Failed Engine Thrust Bearing Supplement No. 3-Duquesne Light Co., Beaver Valley II Gentlemen:

We have completed our inspection of the crankshaft thrust bearings on the two Diesel Generators for Duquesne Light Co., Beaver Valley Unit II.

The plugs were properly installed in both units. The units are free of the reported potential defect.

A copy of this report is being forwarded to the utility involved via the A/E.

We will report our findings on the remaining suspect units as the inspections are made, prior to their initial operation.
