Dear Mr. Grier:

In accordance with the reporting requirements of Connecticut Yankee Technical Specifications, Section 6.9.2.a(9), the following Preliminary Report 80-10/lP is hereby submitted.

While performing reviews of Category I piping to obtain some additional dr.ta for I&E Bulletin 79-14 inspections, a total of five seismic type supports were determined missing from two separate High Pressure Safety Injection lines and two seismic type supports were determined to have excess gap, one on a High Pressure Safety Injection line and one on a charging line.

Four of the missing supports were reported on Saturday, June 21.

Subsequently, the three additional supports were also deter ined to jeopardize operability of these systems and are being included in this report.

The plant was in cold shutdown, for refueling, when these determinations were made.

Replacement supports will be installed and system operability will be restored prior to plant startup.
