PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - S4,000 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Four Thousand Dollars will be issued on or about June 20, 1980, to Commonwealth Edison Company.
This action is based on one alleged item of noncompliance relating to a shipment from the Quad Cities Station of licensed radioactive material in an exclusive use vehicle where the external surface radiation levels of the vehicles exceeded regulatory limits.
A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Notice.
The State of Illinois will be informed.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
