Following your telephone request, I am enclosing two copies of the following official documents:
(:) Our letter dated October 18, 1979, requesting a Tech Spec amendment related to self-protection of our fuel.
(b) Proposed changes to the Technical Specifications.
(c) Justification for the proposed changes to the Technical Specifications.
(d) A letter dated November 2, 1979, regarding possible disclosure of this information.
I am also enclosing for your information a copy of two papers we presented at the TRIGA Owner's Conference in San Diego in March, 1980.
Both of these deal with our program to calculate and measure the self-protection features of our FLIP fuel. These will give you some additional insight into our calculational ability and also give you a few updated experimental measurements we have taken on our irradiated fuel after the official submission in October.
After you have had a chance to examine these documents, it might be beneficial if we disassed theni ovei the telephone. Thanks for looking into this matter so promptly following my phone call to you last week.
