SON Wl. CONTAMINATION AT TMI-2 An NRC inspector was notificd by the licensee of an airborne problem in the Unit 7 fuel handling building (FilB).
At 8:30 a.m., today, an onsite NRC inspector was dispatched to the FHB.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., today, while removing a contaminated filter (SA letdown filter) inside the FHS, an increase in airborne particulate activity was detected by the licensee. The maximum airborne concentrations inside the THU was 1 x 10-8 uci/cc. The FHB was evacuated and 17 individuals involved in um filter transfer operations were monitored and found to have skin contamination.
All individuals were decontaminated and are currently undergoing appropriate biassay.
