}ONTHLY REPORT OF FISH IMPINGEMENT 80050g 3g g 1 N q P 1 I_ E November. 1975 This is the second monthly report of fish impingement occurring of the traveling screens of Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit One, situated on Lake Dardanelle, Arkansas. Twenty-four hour samples were taken three times wucaly during the month.

If the entire sample weight was equal to or greater than 150 pounds, two 75 pound subsamples were taken and the average of these used to extrapolate the total weight and number of the variotm species present in the collection.

The station was off line from October 24, 1975 to Nr". Ger 7,1W).

The Unit began escalation from minimum power on November 7,1W5 and reached full power on November 12, 1975 Inlet water box temperatures ranged from 70 F to 480F during the month.

Total weight of fish impinged in a twenty-four hour sample ranged from a low 3.2 pounds with 171 individuals to a high of 797 pounds with 41,313 indivi-duals.

The most heavily impinged specie during November was Threadfin Shad. Total sample weight for this specie ranged from 1.4 pounds to 775 pounds with 102 and 40,649 individuals, respectively. Threadfin Shad composition in each sample

-ranged from M percent to 97. percent of total biomass. The sample inwhich Threadfin Shad made their lowest contribution, another M percent was contributed by a single Freshwater Drum.

In this sample Threadfin numbered 102. Threadfin Shad contributed 94 percent of the total biraass sampled in November.
