20555 Subj ect: Arkansas Power 6 Light Company Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 Docket No. 50-313 License No. DPR-51 Environmental Technical Specifications

Dear Mr. Giambusso:

Enclosed for your review are several changes which we propose to make to the Arkansas Nuc1 car One-Unit 1 Environmental Technical Specifications.

The effected Environmental Technical Specifications and bases for the changes are as follows:

Environmental Technical Specification 4.1.2.a(3) (page 4-a)

His change will correct the discrepancy between the text in this specification and Tabic 4-3.

Environmental Technical Specification 4.2.2 (page 4-13)

New developments in thermoluminescent technology may indicate using a new type of material instead of either TLD 100 or TLD 200.

By deleting the reference to a specific type, future technical specification changes will not be required.

Environmental Technical Specification 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.4 (pages 2-1 thmugh 2-4)

Because of thermal stratification at the condenser discharge, condenser discharge RTD's are being moved to a point in the circulating water discharge fiume where mixing is more complete.

Mr. D. L. Ziemann's November 22, 1974, Ictter to us approved a He temporary specification change to handle the problem.

environmental evaluation attached to that letter said that "APGL s

will prepare a revision to the Environmental Technical Specifica-tions;to reficct the new temperature sensor location in the discharge canal and which will be implemented upon completion of the installa-tion of the sensor in its new location."

We expect to complete the installation of the sensors in their new locations by June 1, 1975.- If our proposed revision is approved, we will implement the revised specification on the date of completion, whatever that date_ may be, and continue under the temporary specification approved in Mr. - Ziemann's letter in the interim.

Your comments and/or concurrence with these proposed changes are requested.

Very truly yours, jf ' t/
