Docket No. 50-312 s
Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Y Station, Unit No. 1
Dear Mr. Reid:
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has received your letter of September 14, 1977 requesting information for a reassessment of the Rancho Seco Unit No.1 st:am generator and reactor coolant pump support materials.
The Babcock & Wilcox Company, which provided a major portion of this material, has informed the District that they will be unable to provide this data within the 60 days you requested.
In addition, the Babcock & Wilcox Company will provide the District with a major portion of the evaluation of the fracture toughness of the support materials.
At this time, we expect that both the data and the evaluation can be provided by December 31, 1977.
The Babcock & Wilcox Company also informs us they will be providing this same information to other B&W NSSS owners on approximately the same schedule.
We assume this schedule is satisfactory.
Sincerely yours,
'W J. J. Mattimoe Assistant General Manager and Chief Engineer l
