Dear Mr. Reid:
Your letter of November 2,1977 requested additional details on our proposed system modifications which will provide reactor vessel overpressure protection. We infonned you in our letter of December 22, 1977 that we expected to make this submittal by February 28, 1978.
Recent discussions with your staff regarding these modifications have lead to the conclusion that a different modification than previously proposed would be more desirable from the viewpoint of overall plant safety.
This recent change to our design will require additional time to prepare for submittal and will involve some fu'rther discussions with your staff.
We now estimate submitting the items requested by March 31, 1978.
