Nb In response to Mr. R. W. Reid's letter of August 26,1977, the District has reviewed the 1976 radioactive effluent release infonnation proposed for your " Radioactive Materials Released from Nuclear Power Plants (1976)" report concerning the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No. 1.
Our review indicates the following errors:
1.
Under Airborne Effluents (Curies), Particulates, Cobalt-58, the value shown (2.63E-05) should be corrected to read 4.08E-05. A possible explanation for this error is that the total for the second quarter continuous plus batch mode releases sum up to equal the difference between the above two numbers.
2.
Under Summary of Effluents, Airborne, Item D, Total Particulates, the total of 3.81E-05 reflects the error in Item 1 above. The correct value is 5.26E-05.
3.
Under Summary of Effluents, Solid Waste, all three numbers reported appear to be in error.
The correct values are:
A) Vcl ume 1.llE+02 Cubic Meters B) Activity 2.80E+01 Curies C) Number of Shipments 6.00E+00 Since there was no relationship to the values reported in Mr. Reid's letter versus the numbers and types of shipments described in the annual report, no conclusions could be drawn as to the source of the errors in the reported values.

With thase three ex ytions, the remaining values are correct as reported. The Raacho Seco Nuc';ar Generating Station, Unit No.1, Annual Operating Report dated March 1977 is the basis for this review.
