Dear Mr. Stello:
Please refer to your letter of May 11, 1976 wherein you requested that the District conduct a comparison examination of the fire protection i
provisions for the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No.1, against the NRC's Standard Review Plan No. 9.5-1, " Fire Protection," dated May 1, 1976. As stated in the District's letter of June 1,1976, we agreed M respond to this request by August 31, 1976.
Therefore, we are enclos!nn 40 copies of our response to t guidelines of Section IV, " Positions," of Branch Technical Position APCSB 9.5-1, " Guidelines for Fire Protection for Nuclear Power Plants," May 1,1976..
To facilitate the correlation of our response statements to the appropriate NRC guideline position, the NRC's position is first restated with our response to that position imediately following.
In addition, we have assigned item numbers to provide for cross-referencing of subjects which are relateri or require an identical response.
