ggg-Q Cg The Sacramento Municipal Utility District was recently advised by the Babcock & Wilcox Company that they have submitted a LOCA analysis for B&W's 177 fuel assembly plants with a lowered loop arrangement utilizing a revised system pressure distribution. We further understand that this analysis has been reviewed and approved by the NRC.
The revised pressure distributions used in this analysis are a result of remodeling the inlet nozzle U-baffle to reflect as-built dimensions.
The B&W submittal was made by a letter of July 8,1977 to Dr. Robert L. Baer, Reactor Safety Branch, Division of Operating Reactors.
This analysis is applicable to the Rancho Seco Unit No.1 plant and we are hereby requesting acceptance of this analysis for our plant.
The results indicate the existing analysis is conservative so a change to our Technical Specifications will not be necessary.
