Dear Mr. Reid:

Please refer to your letter dated June 9,1976 requesting that the District submit a schedule for providing an evaluation of the adequacy of the pressure vessel supports under certain conditions, as defined in your letter, within 30 days of receipt.

As explained by Mr. Raasch in his telephone conversation with you on July 6,1976, we have been in contact with the other utilities who have Babcock & Wilcox reactors, Babcock & Wilcox, and the majority of the architect-engineers involved in these plants and have scheduled a meeting of all parties for July 21, 1976 to develop a joint program for the per-formance of the requested evaluation. We believe this generic approach wil? be beneficial to both the utilities and the NRC.

Based on this schedule and your telephone concurrence with this approach, our current schedule for the submittal of our program to perform this evaluation is by August 9,1976.

)

Sincerely yours,

'I
