NRC Refueling Information Request 1.
Name of Facility:
Rancho Seco Unit 1, Docket No. 50-312 2.
Scheduled date for next refueling shutdown:
October 15, 1976 3.
Scheduled date for restart following refueling:
December 15, 1976 4.
Will refueling or resumption of operation thereafter require a technical specification change or other license amendment?
Yes 2
In general, the replacement fuel is identical with the original; likewise, we expect the safety analysis to apply to the reload.
There m ay be some changes necessary to specific operating limit curves which are based on each cycle control rod worths and the like.
5.
Scheduled date for submitting proposed licensing action and support-ing information:
We expect to submit all required changes and supporting in-formation 90 days prior to refueling.
6.
Important licensing considerations associated with refueling, e.g.,
new or different fuel design or supplier, unreviewed design or performance analysis methods, significant changes in fuel design, new operating procedures:
Reload fuel is fabricated by same supplier-and analyzed to same criteria as original.
There are no new operating procedures expected which would affect the safety or operation of the core.
.
