NOTICE OF-ISSUANCE OF A FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the Atomic Energy Commission (the Commission) has issued Facility Operating License No. DPR-54 to Sacramento Municipal Utility District authorizing operation of the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station at steady state reactor core power levels not in excess of 2772 megawatts thermal. However the Technical Specifications attached to the operating license will temporarily limit core power to levels not exceeding 2568 megawatts thermal pendi'ng confirmation of anticipated operating per-formance. The Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station is a pressurized water nucle:r rc ctor located at the licensee's site f a Sachwnen!.o Cou.ity, California.

The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Atomic Energy 'Abt of 1954, as amended (the'Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license. The application for the -license complies with the standards and requirements of the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations.

The license is effective as of its date of issuance and shall expire on October 11, 2008.

A copy of (l) Facility Operating License No. DPR-54 complete with dechnical Specifications-(Appendices "A" and "B"); (2) the repor t of the Advisory Comittee on Reactor. Safeguards, dated September 11,1973;(3) the Directorate of Licensing's Safety Evaluation dated June 8,1973; (4) the Final Safety Analysis Report and amendments thereto; (5) the 8008250 f M y.-.

applicant's Environmental Report dated !!ay 18, 1971 and supplements thereto; (6) the Draft Environmental Statement dated October 20,1972; and (7) the

Final Environmental Statement dated March 1973, are available for public inspection at the Commission's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.W.,

Washington, D. C. and the Business and Municipal Departnent, Sacramento City-County Library, 828 I Street, Sacramento, California 95814. A copy of the license and the Safety Evaluation may be obtained upon request addressed to the United States Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D. C. 20545, Attention: Deputy Director for Reactor Projects, Directorate of Licensing.
