A' D 24 G87 LTR JRUSSELL, CNWRA FR PJUSTUS Dr. John L. Russell Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses Building 53 6220 Culebra Road P. O. Box 28510 San Antonio, Texas 78284
Dear Dr. Russell:
I am enclosing the most recent edition of "Selected NRC Products -- High-Level Waste Program," dated November 1987.
If you need any materials identified therein, proceed to order them as directed.
If I can expedite such orders in any way, please let me know.
The "Preliminary Draft Operations Plan for Geologic Setting for Years 1 and 2" has received extensive review.
My specific comments on this plan were transmitted to the Center along with NRC's general comments on the Plans on November 16, 1987.
Please see that the intent of the general and specific comments extends to the Draft Operations Plan for Geologic Setting that the Center is now preparing for submittal to NRC.
A workshop and field trip regarding Hanford site stratigraphy is to be held in the vicinity of Richland, Washington December 7-10, not including travel days.
i It would be desirable for you to attend, provided that your attendance would not adversely impact on the Draft Operations Plan deliverable.
Please let me know if you could attend the meeting in view of the above constraint.
If you can attend, I will provide the rationale and agenda, and discuss the level of your participation.
Please call me on this matter.
The annual summary of the results of the sensitivity analyses of geochemical i
models performed for NRC by Sandia National Labs will be presented in our
)
Silver Spring office on December 3.
The thermodynamic data base and computer models generated by this contract are to be transferred to the Center this fiscal year.
It would be desirable for the Center's geochemist and/or geochemical transport modeler to attend this meeting and others to follow.
Please let me know if one or more geochemists can attend without adversely impacting the Draft Operations Plan deliverable.
