The purpose of the trip was to familiarize the support contractor personnel with the design and status of the instrumentation and control and reactor systems in the Susquehanna plant.
The attendees list is attached.
Initially, we met as a group and the applicant described the status of construc-tion of the various systems in the plant.
Subsequently the meeting divided into two tours, depending on intere.st, for a tour of the facility.
At the end of the tour we reassembled to discuss questions that came up as a result of the tour and to discuss problems the licensee had with questions he has received in the areas of Reactor Systems and Instrumentation and Control.
All the reactor systems questions generated by Savannah River have been reviewed by NRC and sent to the applicant.
With regard to the Instrumentation and Control questions generated by Savannah River one set has been sent to the applicant and one set is being reviewed by NRC.
Savannah River is working on an additional set of questions.
ine applicant expects to have draft responses to the questions he has received to date about the middle of July.
To further expedite the review, we agreed to have technical meetings with the applicant to discuss responses to questions as soon as draft responses were available.
