The Plant Hatch Environmental Technical Specifications (Appendix B to the Operating License) require in section 5.7.3.2 that the NRC be notified of proposed revisions to the NPDES permit. The attached letter to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division dated April 29, 1980, provides justification of the proposed change.

Part III, paragraph 7 of the subject pernit states that if after si.t months of monitoring, a discharge is shown to consistently meet the effluent limits established in the permit, the permittee may request I
a reduction in the frequency or the elimination of the monitoring re-quirements for that discharge. Based on this permit provision, we are requesting that the monitoring requirements established for our dis '
charge 001A2 - Low Volume Waste (Pressure Filter Backwash) at Plant Hatch be eliminated.
Attached are the r sults of analyses performed on this discharge covering the last 15 months. As can be seen from these resulte, the discharge has consistently been well within the established limitations and, therefore, meet the criteria for elimination of the monitoring requirements.
