Dear Board Members:
Enclosed is an " Application for Extension of Time to Answer Petition for Leave to Intervene" (Application for Extension) filed on behalf of the Regents of the University of California (Licensee) in the referenced pro-ceeding on June 12, 1980. This Application for Extension, which was received by the Staff today, June 16, 1980, was sent to Mr. James Miller of the NRC Staff with no indication that it was filed with or served upon the Licensing Board. Accordingly, I am forwarding it to you. The Staff has contacted the attorney for the Licensee who indicated that the Appli-cation for Extension was sent to the Office of the Secretary and that, in the future, motions, pleadings and the like will also be sent directly to the Licensing Board in the referenced proceeding, with copies to the Peti-tioner, the Committee to Bridge the Gap, and the NRC Staff.
The Staff has no objection to the extension of time sought by the Licensee
-in its Application for Extension and will file no further response thereto.
