May 30,1980 Docket No. 50-271 Mr. Jim Grant Star Route Box 64 Wendell, Massachusetts 01379

Dear Mr. Grant:

I am writing in response to your card mailed April 14, 1980.

On April 29, 1980, we met with representatives of the Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Alliance (VYDA) and discussed their reasons for believing that the Vermont Yankee plant should be deconmissioned.

They also presented petitions from citizens in the area requesting Vermont Yankee deconmissioning.

We will consider these petitions as well as your views and the views expressed by VYDA.

Sincerely, l

s, Thoma
