Appointment of Regional State Liaison Officer William B. Henczer has been appointed as the Regional State Liaison Officer for Region III of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. His res-ponsibilities include the coordination of communications between the NRC and state and local governments in activities of mutual interest in the regulation of NRC licensed nuclear materials and facilities.
Mr. Henczer will keep you informed of incidents, the status of inspec-tion and enforcement activities, and other matters of significance in your state.
As interest and involvement by state and local governments in nuclear matters has greatly increased over the years, che NRC recognized the need for full time personnel to coordinate such involvement. Accordingly, a Regional State Liaison Officer has beer. assigned to each of the five (5)
NRC Regions.
Over the next few moaths, Mr. Henczer will arrange to meet with you and with other governmer,t representatives in your state to discuss areas of mutual interest and to identify areas where the NRC may be of assistance to you. He may be teached by telephone on (312) 932-2666.
