Reference:
BG&E letter dated 7/3/79 from J. W. Gore, Jr. to H. R. Denton, Request for Amendment.
Gentlenen:
Regarding the referenced request for license amendment the followine additional information has been requested by your Staff.
If the removed racks are decontaminated by electropolishing, the volune of additional radvaste renerated vill be anproxicately 10 cu.ft.
If the racks themselves are disnosed of as radvaste, they will generate 22,000 cu. ft. of vaste.
As indicated in an earlier round of questions, we do nlan to use the electronolishing method in hotes of totally decontam-inating the racks uso that they vill not have to be disposed of as radvaste.
Regarding the reanalysis of the spent fuel nool structure to deternine the effect of the increased loads, BGkE still feels that the reviev I
in accordance with ACI 318 is satisfactory. We did, however, reanalyze the structure using ACI 318 with the factored loads in Standard Review Plan 3.8.h.
Under these new parameters, no problem exists with the pool structure.
