This refers to your application dated August 24, 1979, as amended February 27, 1980, requesting approval to deliver the Model No. Century packaging to a carrier for transport.

The additional information recuestad by this letter should be submitted in the form of revisec pages to the original Safety Analysis Report in order to preserve the centinuity of your application.

The revised engineering drawings provided in Appendix C are not accropriate for incorporation in the Certificate of Comoliance.
While less detailed drawings were requested, the revised drawings co not show the general arrangement of the package, the materiais of construction, and the design features and dimensions that are ircortant to safe performance of the package.
For example, the uranium shield, zircaloy "S" tube, foam potting material, welds, position of the source in the device, etc., have not been shown.
Eacc sheet of the revised drawings should include a revision numcer.

Provide evidence of the condition of the lockbox following the 30-foot free drop followed by the 40-inch puncture test.
Such evidence should consist of close-up photographs and a detailed discussion of any caserved damage or loosening of the lockbox. Alternatively, the package specimen that was tested may be shipped to us for examination.
Ycu should also cescribe the impact surface used for the 30-foot dre: test in sufficient detail for us to concluce that the surface was " essentially unyielding" as required by 10 CFR 71.
