Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter, telecopied to your office, is intended to satisfy the requirement for prompt notification of a Reportable Occurrence in accordance with Specification 6.11.2.a of the Duane Arnold Energy Center Technical Specifications.
Technical Specification paragraph (s) violated: 3.13.D.2.b Description Occurrence:
During normal operation it was determined the requirement to establish a fire watch anytime the cable spreading room CO2 system is made inoperable was not i
completely satisfied.
A watchman had been posted at the entrance to the cable. spreading room within one hour as required by Technical Specifications, but this person did not have a key to the room and was not checking'the room continuously.
The room was subsequently opened and the fire watch properly established.
The fire watch was approximately 30 minutes late being properly established.
