Joseph ~M.-Hendrie, Chairman U.S. Nuclear. Regulatory: Commission Washington, D.C.
20555
Dear. Chairman-Hendrie:
I understand that you'have been asked by certain 3
. Pennsylvanians'to expedite lthe reopening of the Unit 1. reactor R
,at-Three' Mile' Island.
As'a resident of the Harrisburg area, I am adamantly. opposed to the reopening of Unit.1,.and am appalled
~
by tihat possibility.
' Metropolitan Edison's repeated safety violations and
' blatant disregard of NRC regulations make it imperative that the plant. stay shut down.
I urge you on behalf of the people
~
-who live in this area, who have already been exposed to the-
_ most serious health risks '(not to. mention mental anguish), to do_everything in your power to prevent another accident that-
"could.not happen." The only way to accomplish this is,to close iTMI perraanently.
Sincerely, Oenetvi,.0ibn<pc
