This letter is written in regard to Reference 1 above concerning the Certificate of Compliance for the !!odel B fresh fuel shipping container.
He are requesting that the current certificate be reissued for another 5-year period.
The attachments to this letter are a consolidated applica-tion combining p.rior submittals and supplements with all duplicates and superceded material omitted as requested by fir. Odegaarten of your staff.
The referenced drawings (PE-52F, PE-53F, and PE-54F) were included in the !!ovember 21 application and as a result are not included in this resubmittal.
Since much of the written material included in the attachments to this letter includes details which may have been relevant at the time drop tests were performed but which do not add materially to the routine use of the container, we specifically request that only the summary of the chipping safety analysis (i.e., Items "I" and "II" in the LIST OF ATTACHMENTS to this letter) be referenced in the revised Certificate of Compliance.
This would considerably lessen the amount of documentation necessary for each licensee to have in his possession when using the Model B container.

other than those previously approved by the flRC, and no other changes are
. requested at this time. Any future changes that are significant in relation to container design or application will be submitted for NRC approval prior to first use.
