Dear-Ms. Sinclair:

1 On Friday,' February 29, 1980, you inquired of me regarding a research contract for' Consumers Power's Big Rock reactor.

ERDA let contract E (11-1)-4066 on September 1,1978, for 15.1 million for a study of fuel perfomance at the reactor.

The Department of Energy, as successor to ERDA, should be able to provide you more infomation. The NRC was not involved with this contract.
