Suite 506 IN RESPONSE REFER Washington, DC 20006 TO F01A-80-291
Dear Ms. Weiss:
This is in response to your letter dated May 28, 1980, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, official conmunications from Dr. Joseph Hendrie to members of Congress and Congressional Committees during his tenure as Chairman and Commissioner of the NRC.
Correspondence.
All correspondence, except as noted below, between Chairman Hendrie and members of Congress or Congressional Committees has already been made available for public inspection and copying at the NRC Public Document Room (PDR),1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20555, having been routinely placed in the PDR at the time of origination.
To the best of our knowledge, the only exceptions are three letters written by Chairman Hendrie to Congressman Dingel'1, Senator Lugar, and Senator Hart.
Copies of these three letters, as identified in the enclosed Appendix, are enclosed with this letter.
The charge for reproducing records located in the PDR is eight ($0.08) per page, as specified in 10 C.F.R. 9.14(a).
Copies of these documents can be purchased by writing directly to the PDR. Upon your agreement to pay the reproduction charges, the PDR will arrange for the records to be reproduced by Potomac Research, Inc., a private reproduction contractor servicing the PDR.
You will be billed by Potomac Research, Inc., for the reproduction charges, plus tax and postage.
Testimony and Related Matters.
We have enclosed a list of hearings at which NRC witnesses have apper. red. The dates of hearings at which Commissioner Hendrie appeared are circled.
A statement was not prepared for all of those hearings since, in some cases, he and other Commissioners simply responded to questions. NRC does not ordinarily retain copies of prepared testimony or other documents submitted for the record after such materials have been reprinted.
However, you may obtain the information 8006300SoI
