Dear Mr. Denton:

I want to thank you as a representative of my township of Swatara for coming to the aceting in Lebanon on April 24, 1980. It was my privilege to hear your rational consents and opinions as both an el,cted official and wife of a 7et-Ed employee.

Since the accident, I have tried to read every report which has been issued and study nuclear theory and talk with poeple in the appropriate field. On March 16, 1980 I spent over four hours on an educational tour of the island, accompanied by an instructor eccort and my husband. I feel that to study theory is of help, but to be able to see the facility and receive first hand know-ledge is the ultinate goal of a true understanding, and competence on the subject.

I can readily appreciate and sympathize with the stress of you and your people in Middletown. My husband, a volunteer, has been in-volved with the decontamination effort since last May. L'e both share in the deep conviction that nuclear energy is better for us and the environment WE all share. The nuclear, industry and the facility has been dehlt a serious blow with the accident at TMI, and are continually reminded of this by the ANTI-nuke establish-nent. Hight now, we who believe in TMI and the nuclear industry have only the faith that by 1984, we will not be known as the place of the worst accident in nuclear histocy, but the cleanest, safest nuclear facility in the nation. This deep conviciion keeps the employees going, the wives coping under stress, and the con-tinuation of the efforts of those who support us.

I would also like if you could make available to me copies of the "Heidelberg neport" and " Environmental Impact Assessment Study".

Thank you again for returning to our area and giving so generously of your time and effort to help us. Also, thanks a million for signing my book.

Sincerely, k

?d,

M s
