Dear Ms. Rothschild,
s f.:
I an writing a letter, as I am still without an attorney and do not forsee my being able to afford one.
The Chapter of National Audubon, I am a member of, does
,7 not have sufficient funds to help me, bire an attorney. Also, I am writing as to the why, of your intentional ommission foothe r:ain reason, I am opposing the re-licensing of Morris General Electric Plant? (You are too expert of an Attorney to
,4.,
have missed it. or any other reasons, I stated.)
g, '.r
/t ' t Is it my error, my contention should be my safety, my life, as I registered radio-
, f/b active er: Ceneral niectric 5,moloyses Monitor? And then proceed as to Eases or Basis lhe tco cloro proximity, etc., and have continued from there? Per thUCopys I sent?
r s'
f7 My reasons for not intervening prior to Aug. 79, are:
to intervene on Braidwood and were refused on such trivial technicilaties and'aoseveral Audu
.t,
ridiculous that only ads attorney (trained and educated for Intervention)could
"}
forsee. Such as tyoing, etc., This is why I only nequested dates, of hearings, and
'?!)
if oral appearances would be accepted, I could speak up and about living here..
. F.4 <
Therefore I requested an oral limited appearance to be read, and be questioned'by Q-f (
the Atomic Safety & Licensing Board and attorneys present at the pee-hearing, After
- ' e l thu attending the pre-hearing, for as long as I was able to bet there, (I haci a Drs.
Appt.). I returned home and reread the material you had sent me, plus others I had, ri ; l
.,l notes I had r.ade at the pre-hearing and thought about it, reread and rethinking, for D t!
a while, I dec.'ded ts I could change my oral limited appearance to peti 6 ion to intervene, and have the time to prepare it better and answer the questions of Board, Attorneys, t o the satisfaction of all.
7
?7l I do strongly feel, your ommission of my being radio-active, is cause for me to M
pri protecet and he allowed to intervene: for my own personal safety, my family, neighbors and visitors, in the event, 2 tri tFeir Doctor or Dentis 6 would have to order X Rays, as my Doctor didt My orginal limited appearance was typed by u and one copy for Mr. Goodhope. As I s. s.
stated 2 days prio; to the pre-rearing I hired a professicnal paid tyoist,(you =ust know ury, with this letter) wben I 'ound I needed 30 copies to distribute.
!j.
As to my lesving the pre-hearing early, you and Dr. Robert Bates, of 58 Clinton St.,
Joliet, II., phone f 815 722.2231, havo my consent and psrmission to verify my -
apcoin tment. Had Mr. Gocdhope not extended and set a later time for limited
,Q ancearances and Petitions to Intervene, I would have had to cancell my app't..and
- j hoped ur. Bates would reschedule the app't. if at all possible. I would have stayed and given ry oral linited appearance and answered the questions as to my registering
,:e on G.E.'s Monitor and explained, why I am so sure, with the 6 I-Rays ordered by my
. Doctor, (Dr. Nordland, who is ill and Dr. Bates took over as an emergency for me.)
..p(
1 us all I would need, is XERays, and I will register as radio-active on a monitor.
P
@ As will my family, and neighbors.
sing of G.E.. with the rest valid reason of_.all, NY LIFE!And this is why I strongly obje 1
m Again, if you wishpI will t'
request Dr. batos or Dr. Nordlands staff to release the purposess of X-rays. order 19 I holieve Dr. bates took over my records, till and if Dr. Nordland rettrns.

I also, beg to differ with you on quite a few other points and statements you make,#WilM Y l
s wishing to deny my Petition To Intervene. If you and the Board and others concerned SRWEW wish, I will so write and state them, in answer to your points acainst me. I Can ,M' j o 30 and will get necessary data, et':., to answer your points of refusal..but as I so 4 f, understand it; The purpose of The N.R.C. and the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boardj. (.Q
-\\ I.yr-l'. ~ (2)
- u..
r , _ ;, I are to protect you add I. And to regulate safelt the Atomic and Nuclear Industrial' ' .c, Nl Installations of the United States, and license Atomic and Nuclear Industrial ' t" Installations within the United States, so as nokto endanger any one's safety and~ P lives. 'Iherefore, it stands to reason, it should AG.E..'s place to disprove my state ' 7,', rants and not me(totclarify them)to the satisfaction of the N.R.C. & A.S. & L. Board. add Attorney's, in the interest of my safety. It should be you questioning G.E.,why Ml I can and did register on their moni or. It should be G.E.'s place, proving.to you That the X-rays I had to have, di 'put me over the safe limits, they and Com. l Zd. release. And this to me is the crux of the whole thing. One or two X-rays and wo in this area will registor radio-active on a monitor. My feet reg & stied the highest. ', ' 1re count was 3 for my feet. The x-rays wars to my upper torso 2 chest for.the Dr.
- o determine the dar. age to my spine, and possibly my lungsef other vital organs in the s.f-chest.
These were taken prior to my annual physcial. The day o17physcial Dr. found .i ! o a lunn on one the Breasts, and ordered a mammogram. The lab I was sent to, has the n{ rolicy of taking two views of the suspected breast and two views of.the normal one, M' int then the radiologist, in reading the mammograms has a comparison, and get an k accurate reading and diagnosis. My spine is deformed from Degerantive Osteo-Arthritis au severe curva -ture. All, starting since age 4 And has nothing to do with GE, 4' except my having to have the 4-rays for-the Dr. to get an accurate picture of. the... , A damage and if any to the vital organs. J' '. iV i .n ..\\ My feet registering the highest tells me, the emmissions are falling on the ground' 3.; in our area. What does it tell the N.R.C. and A.G. & L. Board? Or does G.E. have an answer? If the ground in thic are is that radio-active naturally, why was G.E. U.e given a license to operate? Also, why was Com. Ed.? I feel I and the people in ' [j '- this area should have the right answer to these questions and,are entitled to it.'
- y+
And this shc;.ld be anssoedpy.ior to re-of G.E., if they are not adding
- p to this already dangerous. to our safety Also, while at the hee-hearing -
"q I ler.rned the pool at G.h!.. is only guardn. teed for 20 years as of installation. Yet,,- 6 the re-licensing is requested fee another 20-30 years. The guarantee is long gone ..W > vith even a 20 year re-license, as 7 or 8 years are already on the pool and off the 'Q So, I definitely oppose the 20-30 year y -licensing on this ground and '.,1 cuarantee. would also oppose even a 10 year re-license, as itgwouldgover the pools guarantee. ..j.$q I aan assure you attending the part of the pre-hearing I could attend, was quite. an "' t l education and an eye crecer, even to the Board, unaware of the fact, no spent fuelo
- 5' rois from Illinois are in the storage pool at G.E.
f. Please excuse my typing, as I said, I am not a typist, nor a physcist, my safoty and health are my only concern, as I intand to live here, and want to. this area. And I have traveled the world and chose this a ea, knowing Drosden I ',$ -I, I love -li' wa s he re. Dresden I, I could and would live with, but not Dresden II, Dresden III, - J i Dresden on site spent fuel rods of 3 reactors, storage pool, plus G.E.'s and feel. f[ and know it is safe. It is nott As G.E.'s Monitor tproved. -1 Cl, 1
