(Embed Plate Load Capacity Tables)

Gentlemen:

On January 28, 1980 it was reported to your office that a potential item under 10CFR50~.55(e) existed at Plant Vogtle concerning embed plate load capacity tables.

In letter number GM-577 we indicated that a detailed review, analysis and identification of the necessary modification of the pipe supports was currently underday and that a final report would be issued May 16,1980.

To date the progress of this evaluatin is as follows:

(a) Of the 5,760 affected pipe supports, 2,824 needed no review because they were custom designed by engineering and did not employ d:e load capacity tables in the design. Engineering will notify the site that the currently imposed " hold" will be lifted for these supports.

(b) Approximately 1,105 supports have been revised as a result of this review. The related design drawings have been revised and are being reissued for construction.

(c) 'ae remaining 1,831 supports are currently undergoing review and ,

the design drawings will be reissued after they have been revised '

to meet the design requirements.

This review is still underway with a final report now scheduled to be sub-mitted by July 15, 1980.
