Dear Mr. Wilson:
This is to provide a followup to our earlier written correspondence and telephone conversations regarding the status of the required retransfer assurance on your license application-dated September 13, 1978 for the export of components to Finland and your subsequent revised application dated January 30, 1980 (XCOM0057).
The revised component application and the accompanying letter were forwarded to the Department of State on February 14, 1980. The State Department has been in contact with the Finnish Embassy on several occasions regarding a retransfer assurance to cover the components listed on the revised application; however, the assurance still has not been received.
As we have informed you, the Executive Branch and the NRC are prepared to act expeditiously on the license application upon receipt of the retransfer assurance.
