The itens covered by this revision are included on HNDC Drawing No.

C001-5-9120 as follows:

a.

Identification Signs (Elevation View)

Identification signs approximately two feet high and three feet wide may be installed on the outboard sides of the cask. The signs are sheet netal and are attached by bolts in drilled and tapped holes. The bolt holes are located in lightly stressed area of the cask body and do not adversely affect the structural integrity, b.

Placards Mounting (Elevation View and View A-A)

Steel angles with a steel plate as shown on View A-A are welded to the outer shell of the casks. The plates are used to hold the placards required for radioactive shipments. The placards may be located either above or below the identification signs as shown on the elevation view. The attachments do not affect the structural integrity of the package.

9 c.

Lifting Lug Covers (Detail B)

Bent washers may be welded to the cover of the cask adjacent to the cask cover lifting lugs. The washers are used as cyes for lanyards attached to the sheet metal covers which 7

are installed over the cask cover lif ting lugs. The metal covers are used to prevent the use of the cask cover lugs to lift the entire cask. The attachments do not affect the structural integrity of the package.
