Dear Mr. Ziemann:

This letter is being transmitted in accordance with Reference (a) to report the status of our progress towards completing of the Dresden Unit 1 HPCI System.
All HPCI system structural work and 95% of the engineering work is complete.
Procurement of equipment is also complete except for the water storage tank cooling unit whose design is currently under review.
All equipment is on-site except piping safe-ends with associated injection fixture.
Mechanical work is progressing slowly due to craft manpower being utilized on the chemical cleaning installation.
Chemical cleaning of the primary system is scheduled to be completed prior to i
mechanical work in radioactive areas near the reactor.
Consequently, i
J emphasis is being placed on completing the chemical cleaning facility.

Appendix K calculations have been completed and the report is currently in internal review.
In addition, system pre-operational tests i
and a revised E.CCS Design Report are being written.
