Dear Mr. Denton:
On April 7, 1980, Middle South Energy, Inc., Mississippi Power & Light Company, and South Mississippi Electric Power Association filed with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) an Application requesting NRC to amend Construction Permit Nos. CPPR-ll8 and CPPR-119, to include South Mississippi Electric Power Associatica as co-owner of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Units Nos. 1 and 2.
With regard to NRC's review of the above referenced Application, Mr. Thomas C.
Houghton, the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station NRC Licensing Project Manager, requested that we submit to you the following information with regard to the transactions contemplated by the various Agreements:
The acquisition by South Mississippi Electric Power Association of a ten percent undivided ownership interest in the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station and the other transactions contemplated by the various Agree-ments will not (1) result in the need for any addi-tional transmission facilities at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station or the modification of any existing transmission facilities, or (2)~ require any change to the nuclear power plant design.
