UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION, DOCKET NOS. 50-237 AND 50-249 COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY 0_PEy TING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued

Amendment No. 42 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-25 issued to Comonwealth Edison Company, which revised the license and Technical Spec-ifications for operation of the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 3, located in Grundy County, Illinois. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendment (1) authorizes changes to the Technical Specifications to support review of future reloads for Dresden Unit 3 under provisions of 50.59 and (2) modifies license condition 3.E. to assure a conservative MCPR operating limit during coastdown operation.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

The Comission has detennined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendment.
