50-425; Erosion Under Unit 2 Cable Tunnel Gentlemen:
On March 10, 1980, it was reported to your office that a potential reportable item under 10CFR50.55e existed at Plant Vogtle concerning erosion under the Unit 2 cable tunnel. The repairs are now complete and Georgia Power Company is submitting the attached report concerning this incident.
The evaluation concludes that the erosion is a reportable deficiency and also represents a substantial safety hazard.
This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Rooms upon receipt.
