" ~ SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT O 6201 S street, Box 15830, Sacramento, California 95813; (916) 452 3211 April 21,1980 Mr. Robert W. Reid, Chief Operating Reactors Branch #4 Division of Operating Reactors V. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 RE:

Docket No. 50-312 Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station Unit No. 1

Dear Mr. Reid:

In your letter to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District dated March 27, 1980, you sent the District the results of the NRC-sponsored vital area analysis for Rancho Seco.

You asked that the District revise its Physical Security Plan to reflect the results of the NRC-sponsored vital area analysis for Rancho Seco.

On December 18, 1979, the District transmitted to the USNRC Amendment No. 7 to our Physical Security Plan. Amendment No. 7 fully incorporated the requirements as set forth in the vital area analysis study.

Amendment No. 7 included re-editing and the re-printing of the entire Physical Security Plan. We sent five (5) copies of the Physical Security Plan with a transmittal letter to you. You, therefore, should have copy numbers "1" through "5".

Our files contain signed postal receipts showing that the Physical Security Plans were received by the NRC.

The District's Security Division made a limited follow-up investigation and found out that Region V, Office of Inspection and Enforcement, has received its copy of Amendment No. 7 to our Physical Security Plan. Additionally, we have been able to confinn that one of the five copies sent to you is cur-rently in the possession of Mr. Jerry Ennis, Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards, Silver Springs, Maryland.
