d Mr. James G. Keppler March 26, 1980 The aforementioned charcoal adsorbers receive an ANSI N510-1975, Section 5, " Visual Inspection", and Section J2, "In-Place Leak Test, Adsorber Stage", test on an annual [ basis by Nuclear Consulting Services, Inc.

April 1979 test results show no cell damage to the subject charcoal adsorbers.

The charcoal adsorbers of the control room (F16),

containment purge (Fil) and spares in the warehouse were visually inspected for potential cell damage since some cells were changed since April 1979 and some spares may be used before April 1980.

One cell (manufactured by Barnebey-Cheney) in the containment purge system (lFilA) was found to have a partially separated strip which secures the screen to the frame.

The screen was i

flush with the frame and caused no loss of charcoal or had any potential for future charcoal loss.

The cell condition will be upgraded within thirty days of the inspection.

The 1980 inspection is presently scheduled for April.

If at that time the test results show cell damage in any other filtration system, these results will be forwarded to you and the damaged cells replaced according to the schedules in the Bulletin.

i Very truly yours, C
