Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit I Docket No. 50-313 License No. DPR-51 Followup Actions As A Result of The Crystal River - Unit 3 Event on February 26, 1980 '

(File: 1510)

Gentlemen:

Pursuant to the verbal request of your Mr. Guy Vissing, Arkansas Power &

Light Company provides the following clarification regarding the test for Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit I to show the effects of various single power supply failures. This letter supplements our response to Item 2 in our letter dated March 24, 1980.

An analysis of single power supply failures for the NNI-X and NNI-Y cabinets has been previously provided in our March 12, 1980 letter.

Subsequent to the A.C. power supply upgrade described in our March 24, 1980 letter, a test will be performed to verify the design of the NNI system. The test will include a simulated single failure at the most likely location for the following loss of power events: 24 VDC NNI-X power, 24 VDC NNI-Y power, 118 VAC-X power, and 118 VAC-Y power. Also, testing will include verification of the power supply design modifica-tion.

Following completion of the test, a review will be done to determine its acceptability. The test procedure and results will te available for review by the NRC Resident Inspector.

Very truly yours, l
