'b Dear Mr. Howard

,f (A)

Samples taken in the intake and discharge canals on the afternoon of

\\/ -

May 5,1975, indicate chemical concentrations of four (4) parameters f

increased across the plant in excess of Environmental Technical Specification limits. These parameters and their measured values are as follows:

l' Increase from ETS limit on Parameter Units Intake to Discharge increase 5

a) Sodium Nitrite mg/l 0.25 0.005 b) Turbidity 20

~10 i

c) Ammonia mg/l 1.44 0.05 d) Hydrazine mg/l 0.214 0.05 I

The samples were taken while the neutralizing tank was being urained l

into the discharge canal. No other liquid releases were being made and

/

no screen washing and/or trash grinding was in progress.

1 The plant was in the startup mode at the time these measurements were made.
