- Docket Nos. 50-352 and 50-353 FILE: COVT 1-1 (IE Bulletin 80-03)

Dear Mr. Grier:

Philadelphia Electric Company has reviewed IE Bulletin No. 80-03 4

submitted with the subject letter received on February 8, 1980.

At Limerick Generating Station, both Units 1 and 2 have tray type charcoal filters which utilize tack we'ds on one and three quarter inch

. (13/4") centers to secure the perforated screens to the tray casings.

With this close tack weld spacing, the charcoal filters will not be susceptible to the charcoal leakage problems discussed in this bulletin.

The tray type charcoal filters were purchased from American Air Filter Company and have not yet been delivered to the job site. When  !

received at the site, we.will verify that the screen . attaclunent spacing ,

is as reported.

Based on the above, we plan no further action on this item.

Sincerely, W
