OFFICE OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT (IE) BULLETIN 79-23, DATED SEPTEMBER 12, 1979, J. P. O'REILLY TO H. G. PARRIS In response to IE Bulletin 79-23 we have conducted a sustained full-load operational test on emergency diesel generator 3A at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. The test was completed on January 6, 1980.

This test, with a typical diesel generator, demonstrated the ability of the diesel generators to function properly over a 24-hour period at the specified loads.

The successful completion of this testing completes the action required by IE Bulletin 79-23 for Browns Ferry. If you have any questions, please call Jim Domer at FTS 854-2014.
