Dear Mr. Grier:

This letter is submitted in response to the subject IE Bulletin for the SNUPPS Utilities Kansas Gas and Electric Company, Uni,on Electric Company, and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation.

The referenced letter reported that our investigation concerning the planned use of NAMC0 EA180 switches was not complete. The identification of these switches in the Sf4UPPS design and the development of plans for corrective action have required more time than had been anticipated. We are expediting the action required by IE Bulletin 79-28 and will provide the NRC with a final response as soon as possible.

Very truly yours, Nichola
