NRC STAFF MOTION TO OPEN RECORD FOR RECEIPT OF STAFF EXHIBIT At the hearing in the captioned proceeding, each of the airline pilots sub-poenaed by the NRC Staff was requested to draw his approach path into Harrisburg International Airport on a map which had been received in evidence as Staff Exhibit No. 2.
In addition to depicting, in approximate form, their approach paths, the pilots included their approximate airspeeds at various points on their paths. This information is directly relevant to inquiries by the Appeal Board, in ALAB-486, 8 NRC 9, 45 (item (5)) and by the Commission, in CLI-78-19, 8 NRC 295, 297 (item IV).
As stated at the hearing, the Staff intended to have this map duplicated and to offer it as a Staff exhibit (Tr. 533), illustrative of the narrative testimony of eac's pilot (Tr. 533 eti seq.).
Accordingly, the NRC Staff moves to open the record in this proceeding to receive, as Staff Exhibit No. 4, U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute series maps, Middletown and Steelton Quadrangles joined (previously received as i
